Cargo handled in 2022 at the Port of Lisbon reached 11 million tons, an increase of 13.7% compared to the previous year.
The growth in containers was 6%, representing 3.9 million tons. In terms of TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit), the increase was 6.2%.
It should be noted the export nature of the port of Lisbon, with more than 60% of containerized cargo being shipped.
Solid bulk increased by 20% and liquid bulk increased by 14.5% compared to 2021.
According to the port administration, these results stem from “improvements in the performance of various areas, namely containerized cargo, liquid bulk and solid bulk”.
