Portugal close to reaching the target of 50% of GDP in exports, in 2022.
According to António Costa Silva, Minister of Economy and Sea, in statements to the press, the target of 50% of GDP in exports is very close to being achieved, which would mean bringing forward by five years a target projected for 2027.
The diversification of markets will have increased the resistance of the export sector to global negative shocks, with the growth in exports due to the recovery of several sectors, with emphasis on tourism.
2023 will be a difficult and challenging year, mainly due to the political uncertainty experienced in Europe and the rise in interest rates.
